v0.4.0 - Now With Stakes (And Skills!)
Big update! The game now has real consequences and deeper strategy.
Meteor Timer
When starting a new game, you can now set a deadline - build the time machine before the meteor hits, or it's game over. Choose 50-300 years, or pick "relaxed mode" if you just want to chill.
The countdown is always visible in the header. It turns red and starts pulsing when you're running out of time. No pressure.
Family Pool
Resources are no longer magically shared. Each person owns their money and knowledge. To fund research, you need to actively contribute to the family pool first. This adds a real decision layer - do you keep resources for personal growth or donate for the greater good?
Personal Skills
This is the big one. Every person can now develop 5 skills:
- ⚒️ Work Efficiency (+1 income)
- 📖 Quick Learner (+1 knowledge)
- 💪 Resilience (+1 rest recovery)
- ⏳ Longevity (+1 year lifespan)
- 🌱 Fertility (+1% birth chance)
Here's the twist: each person can only learn each skill once in their lifetime. But you can pass skills to your children (under 15), and the levels stack across generations!
Pass your Longevity Lv.3 to your kid, they develop it to Lv.4, pass it to their kid... eventually you have a family heir with Lv.10+ skills. But be careful - passing a skill means losing it yourself. And passing Longevity might kill you on the spot if it was keeping you alive.
A Note on Feedback
Someone suggested adding special materials needed from different locations to build the time machine. I love this idea - it would force you to actually use multiple locations strategically. Still figuring out the best way to implement it, but it's on the list!
Keep the feedback coming.
